Hey,
I stumbled upon your site and it’s quite useful. I liked your suggestions for imaginative journeys. Since you seem like an English guru, I was wondering what your thoughts was in regards to Garden State, the movie starring Zach Braff and Natalie Portman for physical journeys. I was also wondering if you could suggest another non-film, non-poem related text (also for physical journeys). If not, thank you in advance!
Yours sincerely,
Helen (:

I haven’t seen Garden State, but on this post you will find a link to someone who has.
You have a whole world of texts out there for Physical Journeys: almost any novel where a physical journey (especially one that has a profound effect on the traveller) is central to the story, or any example of travel writing, and very many biographies/autobiographies, especially ones written by migrants… Keep hunting!

i was going through your profile and poems it was great i actually love writing poems and songs but when i saw some of your poems it was great and it has great meaning when you think about it.
i just wanted to know if you could suggest a movie that is related to physical journey.
thank you

Thanks, Habiba. Almost any movie will fit, as long as it involves a journey of some kind, from place to place being best in Physical Journeys. What movies have you seen lately? If any of them show someone being challenged or changed somehow be being sent on a quest, moving from one environment to another, then you could use them. As you watch movies or DVDs this year, ask yourself: Is this a journey? What kind of journey? What does this journey do to the person making it? How?

Sorry, only the ones I mention here, which don’t cover all the poems, and nothing Google wouldn’t find for you.
Try Amazon.com to get a book; they are not very expensive.
And Chloe: this is probably too late for you, but any book of poetry will throw up poems that can be seen as journeys…
