Avoid having your work DEVALUED.

 

Each body paragraph in an essay should PEE or SEARCH:

P – point

E – explain, expand the point

E – example(s) to support the point

 

Here is another somewhat more detailed way to think of this:

S –  State the point

E –  Explain, expand the point

A  -  AND

R –  Refer to text to support the point

C – Cite (quote) to support the reference

H – HOW does the composer make his/her point? How does the text work? How does the responder get the idea, feeling, etc.?
