Belonging pages: HSC 2009-2012

So here is the project for 2009! You should note that there are already some posts to help you in the HSC. Look at the categories and tags in the side bar, especially 2009-2012 HSC. You must look at HSC English NSW Area Study Standard and Advanced: Belonging 1 as a logical preface to these pages.

On this page I will list the complete set on this topic, which will also appear in the side bar in the All About Pages widget, so there will be all kinds of ways to navigate around. 🙂

The first sub-page here will be a “model essay”. I have done this before: see the set that begins at Workshop 01 — a theme unit in four different text types: senior English Studies. I repeat the warning I attached to that set: NOTE: Model answers should NOT be copied or learned by heart. You may learn from them, but you must answer the exact question you get in your way in terms of that question. You will never get precisely the same question on the same topic with the same instructions as this one anyway.

Something may turn up, Sam, but the truth is I tend to put up things relating to the people I tutor in real life. Have you tried http://www.hsc.csu.edu.au/english/ ?

Not from me, I’m afraid, as I don’t know “A Simple Gift” well enough. (I did meet Stephen Herrick once though. ;))

Someone left a comment asking about creative writing for “Belonging” — but the spam filter ate it, I’m afraid. I pressed a button too quickly. Sorry about that.

However, I may say something soon about creative writing again, not so much “ideas” as hints on how to approach it. Meanwhile look here, here and here.

Hi, I just came upon your website, and it appears very helpful!

I just wanted to say a big thank you as I am struggling to pull off, well to even pass, exams or hand in essays for that matter. I really appreciate the time you have taken off to make this website quite successful in my opinion. I’m in year 11 if you were curious 🙂

    Thank you again,
    Soph.

    Hello there

I have a daughter, Matilda, who is completing her HSC this year in NSW and would be interested in attending workshops related to Advanced English. She is studying Hamlet, Great Expectations, The Justice Game, W;t (M. Edson) and Poems (J. Dunne).

    Thank you

    Simon Bromley
